OUT LOUD

Terms of Service

Last updated 14 September 2026

By downloading or using Out Loud, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What Out Loud is

Out Loud is a self-guided app for practising spoken affirmations. It shows you a line, follows along while you say it aloud, and keeps a record of the days you practised.

It is not medical care. Out Loud is not therapy, not counselling, not a medical device, and not a substitute for professional help. It does not diagnose or treat anything.

If you are struggling with your mental health, please speak to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

Your age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Out Loud. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

Subscriptions and payment

Out Loud is free to use, with one session a day and a selection of categories. A paid subscription opens everything else.

How billing works

The free trial

The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid yearly subscription automatically.

Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period.

Cancelling

Manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings, under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple rather than from us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your content

Affirmations you write and photographs the app saves belong entirely to you. They stay on your device. We never see them, cannot access them, and claim no rights over them.

Do not use the app to store anything unlawful.

Our content

The affirmation library, backdrops, design and code of Out Loud belong to us. You may use them within the app. You may not copy, redistribute or resell them.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reverse-engineer the app, circumvent payment, or interfere with the service. Do not use it in any way that breaks the law where you are.

Availability

We aim to keep Out Loud working but cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of faults. Backdrops are downloaded from a content server; if that server is unavailable the app still works using whatever is already cached on your device.

We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the app entirely we will give reasonable notice where we can.

Limitation of liability

Out Loud is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change and material updates will be announced in the app. Continuing to use Out Loud after a change means you accept it.
